Organic Wave Black Pepper

What is it?

Black Pepper is a spice made from the dried berries (peppercorns) of the Piper nigrum plant. It has a distinctive warm, sharp, slightly spicy flavour and is one of the most widely used seasonings worldwide.

The main active plant compound in black pepper is piperine, which is responsible for much of its characteristic pungency.

Product Benefits

  • Natural spice - made from dried peppercorns and commonly available whole, cracked, or ground.
  • Contains antioxidants - including piperine and other naturally occurring plant compounds.
  • Enhances flavour - adds warmth and depth to foods without needing sugar or heavy sauces.
  • Pairs well with turmeric - piperine can significantly increase the absorption of curcumin, a compound found in turmeric.

  • Useful for lower-salt cooking - adding herbs and spices such as black pepper can make dishes more flavourful while reducing reliance on salt.
